i am reading sense and sensibility, by jane austen. i felt that her style of writing is really cool, i admire the people living at that time--the lavish parties and the carefree life. anyway in the story the 2 sister met a disastrous piece of affinity. both loved men who lied to them, maybe not, they just didnt tell fabricate anything but chose only not to tell them. so technically they didnt lie, they just didnt say the truth. anyway i really like Elinor, she is so understanding and forgiving, so sensible in fact. she sees good in everything and is very kind. such girls are really hard to come by nowsdays. i hate marianne though, i feel that she is just some spoilt brat and is extremly childish. but unlike pride and prejudiced, this book is less exciting and less emotional. the characters in S&S are rather shallow, a cad is a cad.
i cant understand the 2 guys in the book, their actions really make me wonder. it only makes me feel that jane austen is trying to fabricate a guy to fit her story. i feel that stories should not be written first than the character are to fit into the story, but rather the character and the story should be going hand in hand. situations appear due to the nature of the character, or situations shape the character.
